USCIS Issuing Five-Year Advance Parole Travel Documents
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has begun issuing five-year advance parole travel documents to certain applicants. The five-year advance parole validity dates may be available to individuals who are now eligible for five-year Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) under guidance issued on September 27, 2023 (see ImLaw’s previous news alert).
The extended validity advance paroles are being issued as both a combination EAD/advance parole card and as a separate I-512L advance parole document. This development is reportedly an effort by the agency to reduce the number of times an applicant needs to submit an I-131 application.
